James Parker has twenty five years commercial experience in the research, finance and media industries. Originally a client adviser with leading stockbroker Ord Minnett, in 1989 he became a finance writer and business commentator with Australian Business magazine and radio station 2UE. Since 1992 he has held a succession of media management roles, including launch publisher of Men’s Health, managing director of TNT Magazine (Australia & NZ), and general manager of the Coffs Coast Advocate. He founded Jetty Research in 2006.
James has a long interest in market research. At Australian Business he founded and co-ordinated for three years an annual survey of stockbrokers, while at TNT Magazine Pty Ltd he turned that company’s bi-annual survey of inbound backpackers into the standard reference source among peak tourism bodies.
James holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney, and a graduate certificate in applied science (statistics) from Swinburne University of Technology. He is a full member of the Australian Market and Social Research Society (AMSRS).
Shane Garner (call centre manager) is a skilled telephone administrator and call centre manager who has worked with Jetty Research since 2007. Prior to this, Shane worked in a number of customer service roles including seven years with Colonial State Bank and another seven with Mayne Logistics.
Reza Sahami (data analyst) has been with Jetty Research since 2010. Before this he worked in a variety of roles in the UK finance sector. Reza, who has completed tertiary mathematics studies and a Foundation of Statistics course at Open Universities Australia, is highly proficient in SPSS and Excel.
Deanne Parker holds an Honours degree in psychology from the University of Northumbria, and a graduate certificate in the psychology of coaching from the University of Sydney. She spent ten years as an auditor in England and Australia, followed by three years as a recruiter with Morgan & Banks.
